Your overall IELTS 6.5 is not the whole story here, since both Galway and TU Dublin also require at least 6.0 in every individual component, so check your band breakdown before assuming you clear the bar. If your BCom carried strong quantitative content, Galway's Business Analytics masters is also worth a look.

Why Galway's International Management Fits Your Profile

  • H2.2 plus experience route: Galway considers applicants below its standard H2.1 requirement when they carry 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 35 months of experience: comfortably clears that 2-year threshold and strengthens your application narrative.
  • IELTS 6.5: accepted, provided each component sits at 6.0 or above.

What the Irish Application Process Involves

After an offer, Galway and TU Dublin both require academic transcripts to be verified, a deposit to confirm your place, and then a Stamp 2 student visa application through the Irish Immigration Service Delivery once your offer letter and proof of funds are ready. Galway also runs a Master of Management and Sustainability as a second, less commonly considered option for BCom graduates with an interest in ESG or sustainable business, which is worth a look if International Management feels too generalist for your specific career goals.

My Advice

Do not rely on the 6.5 overall figure alone; pull up your individual IELTS band scores and check them against each university's component minimum before you shortlist. If your BCom transcript is light on quantitative subjects, skip Business Analytics and keep International Management or Strategic Management as your two lead applications.
