What EUR 45,000 Actually Means in Take Home Pay
A gross salary of roughly EUR 45,000 a year works out to about EUR 3,750 a month before deductions. My Advice
Do not choose a city on salary alone. Munich's salaries sit at the top of this table, but its housing costs are also among the highest in Germany, so the gap between Munich and Berlin can shrink once rent is factored in. Work out a rough net income minus rent comparison for your top two or three city choices before deciding, rather than ranking cities purely by the gross salary figure.
