Germany is the main country offering tuition-free public university education to Indian students at bachelors and masters level. Iceland is also tuition-free. Czech Republic, Finland and Poland are free only if you study in the local language. France and Austria stay heavily subsidised.

Plan 12 to 18 months. Meet eligibility with a CGPA around 7.0 or higher, clear the GRE and IELTS or TOEFL, build your SOP, LORs and transcripts, shortlist dream, target and safety universities, arrange funds of 30,000 to 60,000 USD yearly, then secure your F-1 visa.

Germany, the USA, Canada and Australia rank as the best countries for engineering with strong job prospects. Germany offers near-free tuition, the USA the highest salaries and STEM OPT, Canada the easiest permanent residency via PGWP, and Australia strong demand in civil, mining and renewable fields.

There is no single best country; it depends on your field, budget and immigration goals. The USA leads on salaries and STEM OPT, Germany on zero tuition, the UK on fast one-year degrees, Canada on PR pathways, Australia on high wages, and Ireland as a European tech hub.
