Which universities suit a BTech graduate in Information Technology with no backlogs?

No backlogs is a good starting filter, but it will not by itself tell you which university tier is realistic. Your CGPA band does most of the work in shaping a sensible shortlist across Canada, the US, the UK and Germany.

A Realistic Application Timeline

Roughly 12 to 18 months before your intended start, prioritise building a GitHub portfolio, taking IELTS or TOEFL, and deciding on a specialisation such as AI, cybersecurity, software engineering or data science. Many Canadian programmes carry earlier deadlines than their US or UK counterparts, so finalise your Canada shortlist first if that is part of your plan.

My Advice

Do not chase brand name alone. UBC and Waterloo both weight admissions on your specific coursework and projects, not just your no backlogs record, so use your final two semesters to add one or two substantial projects rather than only polishing your CGPA. If your CGPA sits in the 7.0 to 7.9 band, a Heriot-Watt or similar UK programme is a safer backup than stretching for a top tier Canadian school.
