Is the post-study work visa process and cost the same for Germany and Ireland for a Master's/PhD?

Germany and Ireland both offer clear post-study work pathways for international graduates.

Germany:
After finishing your degree, you can apply for an 18-month Job Seeker Visa to search for work related to your field. During this time, you may work in any job. Once you secure a relevant position, you can switch to a work residence permit or EU Blue Card, which can lead to permanent residency in as little as 21 months (with strong German skills). Student visas typically cover your course duration, with possible extensions.

Ireland:
Graduates can apply for the Stamp 1G (Third Level Graduate Programme):
- Bachelor’s (Level 8): 12 months
- Master’s (Level 9) or PhD (Level 10): 24 months (12 months plus a possible 12-month extension)
You may work full-time (up to 40 hours/week) without employer sponsorship. After Stamp 1G, you can apply for employment permits that may lead to long-term residency. Application for Stamp 1G must be within six months of getting your final results and while your student visa is valid.
