It depends. If you are under 25 and financially dependent on your parents, your father's retirement and current income may affect the amount of Maintenance Loan you can receive for studies in the UK. Lower parental income can sometimes increase your loan eligibility.

If you are 25 or older, you are usually considered independent, and your parents' financial situation is not considered in the loan assessment.
