You typically need to show recent proof of funds for your student visa application:

- Canada: Bank statements covering the last 4 months are required. The balance should be stable, with no sudden large deposits, to demonstrate genuine financial capacity.
- Germany: You must show access to the required funds (currently €11,904 for one year) for at least 3 months before your visa application.

Funds should be readily available and not locked in non-liquid assets.
