• Only if you have quantitative preparation: a Data Science or Applied Data Science masters expects considerably more mathematics, statistics and algorithms than either analytics program above.
• Check your transcript first: Commerce degrees containing statistics, econometrics, MIS or programming make this route realistic; without them it is a much harder transition.
• Finance-heavy Commerce degrees: Trinity's MSc Accounting and Analytics is worth a look if you want to stay close to finance while adding a genuine analytics project.

My Advice

Do not pick a program purely on its title. Pull your Commerce transcript and check specifically for Management Information Systems, mathematics, statistics or programming modules, since UCD and Trinity both flag quantitative preparation as relevant to admission even though Trinity does not require prior coding experience. If your transcript is light on any of that, start with UCD's more business-oriented analytics track and build toward a technical data-science role through electives and on-the-job projects rather than jumping straight into a pure Data Science degree.
