Yes, a one-year diploma in Canada can make you eligible for a post-study work permit (PGWP) valid for up to one year, if you meet all requirements.

Key requirements:
- Program length: At least 8 months
- Designated Learning Institution (DLI): Diploma must be from a DLI
- Full-time status: Maintain full-time enrolment (except final semester or scheduled breaks)
- Application timing: Apply for the PGWP within 180 days of program completion
- Language proof: From 1 Nov 2024, language proficiency proof is required

Additional notes: For study permits issued on or after 1 Nov 2024, your diploma must be in an eligible field. At least 50% of your program must be completed in person in Canada. Rules are subject to change.
