BTech is an umbrella term covering genuinely different engineering foundations, and the UK and Ireland's admissions systems check your specific branch and subject credits, not just the fact that you hold an engineering degree. That means the right master's for a Mechanical graduate and the right one for a CSE graduate can look completely different, even from the same broad question.

The most common mistake here is picking the specialisation based on what sounds employable in general, rather than what your specific BTech branch already supports. A Mechanical graduate chasing an AI/ML master's is starting from a much weaker position than an ECE graduate doing the same, even though both hold a BTech.

Tell your counsellor your exact branch and subjects so the specialisation choice, not just the country, gets the same scrutiny.
