When does the interest on the education loan start applying after getting the loan?
Interest on your education loan usually starts accruing from the day the loan amount is disbursed to you or your institution. This means you begin accumulating interest as soon as the funds are released, even before your course starts.
Many banks offer a moratorium period during your studies (and sometimes a short grace period after), where you may only need to pay interest or make no payments, depending on the loan terms. For details specific to your bank and loan product, connect with your Leap counsellor.
