The UK currently offers a Graduate Visa that allows bachelor's and master's graduates to stay and work for 2 years after graduation (3 years for PhD holders). For applications submitted from January 1, 2027, this will reduce to 18 months for bachelor's and master's graduates, while PhD graduates will still get 3 years. These durations are subject to change.

In the USA, the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program allows F-1 visa holders to work for 12 months after graduation. Graduates in STEM fields may be eligible for a 24-month extension, giving a total of up to 36 months of work authorization.
