What is the duration of the cosmetology program in the UK and what post-study work visa options are available for a Diploma?
Cosmetology programs in the UK vary by level:
- Certificate/Diploma: 6 months to 1 year
- Bachelor’s degree (related fields): 3 years
- Master’s (if available): 1 year
For post-study work, the UK offers the Graduate Visa (post-study work visa). If you graduate and apply by 31 December 2026, you can stay and work for 2 years; from 1 January 2027, this reduces to 18 months for bachelor’s and master’s graduates. After this, you may switch to a Skilled Worker Visa if you secure a qualifying job.
Visa policies are subject to change.
