What happens after I get an offer? How does the process proceed in Canada for a Diploma/Postgraduate?
After you receive an offer for your postgraduate diploma in Canada, your next steps are:
1. Accept your offer - Log in to your institution’s portal and formally accept. You’ll likely need to pay a non-refundable tuition deposit by their deadline.
2. Get your Letter of Acceptance (LOA) - Once you accept and pay, the institution issues this official document. You need it for your study permit application.
3. Apply for your Canadian study permit - Gather your LOA, proof of funds, passport, and any required documents. Submit your application online. As a postgraduate diploma student, you may also need a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL), issued by your institution.
4. Arrange finances and accommodation - Make sure you have funds ready for tuition and living expenses, and secure your housing.
5. Prepare for departure - Book your travel, arrange health insurance, and attend any pre-departure orientation sessions.
6. Arrive in Canada - Carry your study permit approval and other documents for immigration. Join orientation activities to settle in.
