For US university applications, you’ll typically need your academic transcripts/marksheets (usually from your bachelor’s degree), degree certificate or provisional certificate, passport, Statement of Purpose (SOP), updated resume, and 2–3 Letters of Recommendation (LORs). In addition, most universities require an English proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL.

Depending on the program, you may also need to submit GRE or GMAT scores, GRE is commonly required for technical or STEM programs, while GMAT is more relevant for management or business-related courses. Some universities have made these tests optional, but strong scores can still strengthen your application.

For certain fields, additional requirements may apply. For example, portfolios for design or architecture programs, or work experience for MBA programs. Since requirements vary by university and course, it’s important to check specific criteria while shortlisting.
