Is there any requirement to have a large amount of money in the bank balance for education loan or visa application like in Australia in Ireland/Germany?

Yes, most countries require you to show proof of sufficient funds for your education loan or student visa, but the exact amount and method differ by country.

- Australia: You must show access to enough money for your first year’s tuition, living expenses (around AUD 29,710/year), and travel. Funds can be in your bank or via a sanctioned education loan, usually held for at least three months before applying.
- Germany: You need at least €11,904 in a blocked account (Sperrkonto) before your visa application to cover one year of living expenses.
- Ireland: You must show immediate access to at least €10,000 for living costs for courses over 8 months, plus proof of funds for each additional year.

Requirements are subject to change. You don’t need a large lump sum idle in your account, but you must clearly show stable, genuine access to the required funds. For detailed document guidance, connect with your LeapScholar counsellor.
