You must show proof of sufficient funds when applying for an Australian student visa (Subclass 500). As of 1 July 2025, you need to demonstrate access to at least AUD 29,710/year for living expenses, plus your first-year tuition fees and about AUD 2,000 for travel.

Acceptable financial evidence includes:
- Bank statements (showing a stable balance for at least 3 months)
- Education loan sanction letters
- Scholarship award letters
- Sponsorship letters (with supporting documents)

Funds must be genuinely available and not just temporarily deposited. Unexplained large deposits can lead to visa refusal. Requirements are subject to change.
