Is there any option for a short-term course or a program that allows me to go abroad and become eligible for a work permit or stay there after studies in UK/Canada?
It depends. Most countries require you to complete a longer program (typically at least one year or a full degree) to become eligible for a work permit or post-study stay.
- Canada: Only programs of at least 8 months at a Designated Learning Institution make you eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). Shorter courses do not qualify.
- UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Lithuania: Post-study work visas or stay-back options are generally available only after completing a full degree or longer program, not short-term courses.
- Other countries (Italy, Poland, Latvia, UAE): Policies vary, but short-term programs rarely lead to work permit eligibility.
Short-term courses usually do not qualify for post-study work options. If your goal is to work abroad after studying, consider enrolling in a full degree or longer program that meets the country’s requirements.
