Yes, after completing a one-year course in Canada, you are typically eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) valid for one year, matching the length of your program.
However, as of February 15, 2024, graduates of a master’s program in Canada - even if the program is less than two years - may be eligible for a three-year PGWP, provided all other eligibility criteria are met.
The PGWP is a one-time opportunity and must be applied for within 180 days of program completion. Your passport must be valid for the full length of the permit issued. Policies are subject to change.
