Is it advisable to apply for visa priority processing or not?
If you have enough time before your course starts, standard processing is usually sufficient and more cost-effective. Priority processing is only advisable if you need a decision urgently or have a tight timeline.
- Standard processing: Decision in about 3 weeks after biometrics, with no extra fee.
- Priority processing: Decision in about 5 working days, but costs an extra £500 (subject to change).
- Availability: Priority slots can be limited during peak times.
Since your course begins in September 2026, standard processing should work well if you apply several months in advance. If you need faster results and are comfortable with the extra fee, priority processing is an option.
