Yes, Ireland is generally more PR-friendly for international students than the UK.

- In Ireland, after your studies, you can stay and work for up to two years on the Third Level Graduate Scheme. During this time, you can apply for an employment permit. After five years of legal residence (including study time), you may be eligible for Long-Term Residency (Stamp 4), allowing you to live and work without an employment permit.
- In the UK, you must complete your studies, work for up to two years on a Graduate Route visa, then secure a Skilled Worker Visa. This 2-year period applies to applications made before 1 January 2027; applications submitted on or after that date receive 18 months, while PhD graduates continue to receive 3 years. Only after five years on this visa can you apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (PR), making the total timeline around seven to eight years.

Ireland typically offers a shorter and more straightforward PR pathway than the UK.
