Is internship experience considered as work experience for admissions?

Yes, internship experience can be valuable for admissions, especially for fresh graduates or applicants with limited full-time experience. Internships help demonstrate practical exposure, industry understanding, technical skills, and professional involvement in your field. They can strengthen your profile for many master’s programs.
However, MBA programs or other courses that specifically require a certain number of years of work experience, usually consider only full-time professional experience gained after graduation. Internship experience, part-time work, or training programs are generally not counted toward the official work experience requirement for such programs.
That said, strong internship experience can still positively support your application overall, particularly if it is relevant to your intended field of study.
