Is GMAT required for MBA admissions in Australia and Germany or can I apply without it?
No, the GMAT is not mandatory for most MBA programs in Australia or Germany. Schools like the University of Sydney, Monash, TUM and IU accept strong work experience and academics instead. A few elite names like Melbourne Business School, WHU and ESMT Berlin still require or strongly recommend it.

My Advice
If you have a solid undergraduate record and a few years of real career progression, skip the GMAT and target the many strong no-GMAT programs, since it will not hurt your chances at a reputable school. Do note that a good score can widen your options to tier-1 elite schools and improve merit scholarship odds. Even at the strict schools, 5 plus years of leadership or an exceptional academic record can win you a waiver, so ask the admissions office directly before you rule anything out.
