If you don't receive an IELTS waiver, you will need to take another accepted English proficiency test for your chosen country and university.
- UK: PTE Academic UKVI is accepted for visa purposes. Standard PTE Academic is usually accepted by universities, but not for visas. TOEFL iBT is not valid for UK visa applications.
- New Zealand: PTE Academic is accepted for both university admissions and visa applications.
Given your background in English and Sociology, PTE Academic may be a suitable alternative.
