If you stay in the UK or UAE after your visa expires - even if you are still looking for a job - you will be considered an overstayer, which leads to serious consequences.

UK:
- Overstaying is a criminal offense. You lose the right to work, rent, or access public services.
- Re-entry bans may apply if you overstay for more than 30 days, ranging from 1 to 10 years depending on the situation.

UAE:
- Daily fines of AED 100 apply after your grace period ends, and can add up quickly.
- Prolonged overstaying can result in detention, deportation, and future entry bans.

Always apply for an extension or a new visa before your current visa expires. If you have already overstayed, contact your LeapScholar counsellor immediately for guidance.
