You need an F-1 student visa to study for a Master's in the USA. The process involves:

1. Secure admission from a SEVP-certified U.S. university and receive Form I-20.
2. Pay the SEVIS fee ($350) online.
3. Complete the DS-160 visa application and print the confirmation.
4. Schedule a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in India.
5. Pay the visa application fee ($185).
6. Prepare required documents: passport, I-20, DS-160 confirmation, fee receipts, photos, proof of funds, academic records, and test scores.
7. Attend your visa interview and answer questions about your study plans and ties to India.
8. Wait for visa processing and stamping.

Currently, visa appointment wait times in India are very long - about 150 to 300 days due to high demand. After the interview, stamping usually takes a few days, but extra processing can add weeks.

Start your visa application at least 6 to 8 months before your program begins to avoid delays. Reach out to your Leap counsellor for personalized guidance through this process.
