It depends. Most universities focus on your overall academic record and how you used any academic gaps.

- Relevant work experience during a gap can strengthen your application.
- Continuous education is generally viewed positively, but a gap is not a problem if explained well.
- A clear explanation in your Statement of Purpose (SOP) about how you spent any gap (work, skill-building, etc.) is important.
