It depends. Students who went to the US around 2022 on an F-1 visa and completed a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree can be eligible for a 24-month STEM OPT (Optional Practical Training) extension after their initial 12-month OPT, for up to 36 months of total work authorization.

- STEM graduates: May extend work authorization until 2025 or 2026, depending on degree completion and OPT start.
- Non-STEM graduates: Typically eligible for only 12 months of OPT.

Eligibility and timelines depend on your degree field and when you started OPT.
