Singapore offers more flexible student work permissions than the UAE.

- Singapore: International students with a valid Student's Pass can work up to 16 hours/week during academic terms and full-time during official school vacations, without needing a separate work permit. Some sectors (like nightlife or massage parlors) are off-limits. Exchange students cannot work.
- UAE: Students aged 18+ can work up to 20 hours/week during academic terms and full-time during university holidays, but must obtain a part-time work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their university. The process is more formal and employer-driven.

Overall, Singapore's process is simpler and less restrictive, while the UAE allows slightly more work hours but requires additional permits and university approval. Both countries restrict certain job types and require students to maintain their visa status.
