After completing the research program, will I directly get a job in UK/Australia for a PhD?

No, completing a research program does not guarantee a job. While most countries offer post-study work visas (PSW) that let you stay and search for jobs related to your field, you must still apply, interview, and secure a position on your own.

- USA: You can apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT), allowing up to 12 months of work (up to 36 months for STEM fields), but you must find your own job.
- UK: The Graduate Route visa lets you stay and work for 2 years (3 years for PhD), but employment is not automatic. This 2-year period applies to applications made before 1 January 2027; applications submitted on or after that date receive 18 months, while PhD graduates continue to receive 3 years.
- Australia: The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) allows 2-4 years of work depending on your qualification, but you need to secure a job independently.

PSW policies and durations are subject to change.
