After completing the post-study work visa, if I have not received a job offer letter, what is the next step or process in New Zealand?
If your Post Study Work Visa (PSWV) in New Zealand expires and you have not secured a job offer, your options are limited.
- You may be eligible for a Short-term Graduate Work Visa (up to six months of open work rights), available from November 16, 2026, to help you find employment.
- Alternatively, enrolling in another eligible program could make you eligible for a new PSWV.
- If no other visa option applies, you will need to leave New Zealand before your visa expires.
Visa rules and options are subject to change. For guidance on your specific situation and next steps, connect with your LeapScholar counsellor.
