Second full form of the IPCC

Another full form of the IPCC is Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. It is an intergovernmental research organisation that works under the direction of the UN to assess climate change.

It was created in 1988 by WMO (World Metrological Organization) and UNEP, two UN organisations (United Nations General Assembly).

This international group doesn’t need to carry out any projects, studies, or ongoing data monitoring to fulfil its mandate. The primary responsibility of the intergovernmental group was to study and analyse the most recent scientific, technological, and socioeconomic information regarding climate-related developments.

Primary objectives of IPCC

  • The IPCC’s primary objective is producing reports to implement the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  • It offers stability in the highly concentrated greenhouse gas in the atmosphere.
  • The “Principles Guiding IPCC Work,” which the IPCC accepted and published, acknowledges and describes the IPCC’s analysis and evaluation of the risk of climate change caused by people, its potential effects, and viable preventative measures.
