In Mathematics, candidates must answer Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and Probability questions. There are two levels in Mathematics. The first covers algebra, data analysis and number sequences. 20% are grid-ins, and 80% are multiple-choice questions. There are also graphical representations of the linear function, linear equations with rational coefficients, linear inequalities in two variables, and their system of linear equations. Percentages, ratio and proportion, unit conversion, equation of curve or line using a scatter plot, two-way tables to calculate conditional probabilities and conditional frequencies, an association of variables or independence of events, estimation of a population parameter, calculation of median, mean, mode, standard deviation and range in statistics and evaluation of reports to determine the appropriateness of the methods of data collection are the topics explored in data analysis and problem-solving. Expressions, representation and modelling, inequalities, equations, properties of functions (linear, rational, exponential, polynomial, logarithmic, inverse trigonometric, trigonometric, periodic, recursive, parametric, piecewise), lines, circles, ellipses, parabolas, hyperbolas, symmetry, polar coordinates, transformations, right triangles, radian measure, identities, the law of sines, law of cosines, equations and double angle formulas, ratio and proportion, operations, complex numbers, counting, matrices, sequences, elementary number theory, series and vectors are some of the topics explored under Mathematics.

On the other hand, the reading section assesses one’s ability to comprehend a text with the help of American or International work of fiction, a passage or a pair of excerpts from US founding documents or a Great Global Conversation on topics like freedom, justice, and human dignity, economics, psychology, sociology, science. The candidate will be assessed on his or her ability to articulate their ideas.
