Will my passport be needed before applying for the visa in UK/Ireland?
Yes, you must have a valid passport before applying for a student visa to the UK, USA, Canada, or Ireland.
Your passport is required as the main identification document during the visa application process. Most countries also require that your passport remains valid for the entire duration of your studies, and some (like the USA) may require at least six months of validity beyond your planned stay.
If your passport is close to expiring, renew it before starting your visa application to prevent delays. If you need help with this process, contact your LeapScholar counsellor.
