Holding both a BSc and an MSc in Mathematics already gives you a rare depth of quantitative training, which means the real decision here is not whether you are qualified, it is whether German universities will let you take a second master's at all, and which interdisciplinary framing gets you approved.

Three Career Tracks From a Pure Mathematics Base

Career GoalSpecialisationWhere
FinanceFinancial Mathematics or Quantitative FinanceUniversity of Konstanz, Saarland University
DataMathematics in Data Science or Mathematical Data ScienceTU Munich, University of Ulm, RWTH Aachen
EngineeringIndustrial Mathematics or TechnomathematicsTU Berlin, University of Bremen, University of Augsburg

Why a Second Master's Needs an Interdisciplinary Angle

  • Consecutive degree rules: some German public universities discourage a second master's in exactly the same field, so pick a programme that crosses into finance, data science, or engineering rather than a plain second Mathematics MSc.
  • Tuition varies by state: most public universities charge only a nominal semester contribution, though Baden Wurttemberg charges non EU students roughly 1,500 euros per semester, and TU Munich charges international students structural tuition of around 6,000 euros per semester.

My Advice

Read each university's Zulassungsordnung, its admission regulations, carefully before applying, since the exemption for interdisciplinary second master's degrees is not automatic everywhere. If your goal is Frankfurt's finance sector or Stuttgart and Munich's industrial base, even basic conversational German at an A2 or B1 level will meaningfully improve your internship and job prospects, even though the programmes themselves are taught in English.
