My Advice

In my experience, CS graduates pick AI by default because it's the most talked-about specialisation, without checking whether they actually enjoyed the underlying math and statistics courses in their bachelor's. If you're genuinely unsure, a general Computer Science master's at a strong Italian university, such as Politecnico di Milano or the University of Pisa, lets you specialise later through electives once you've tried a semester of each direction, which lowers the risk of a wrong first pick made purely on a program's marketing rather than its actual curriculum content and structure.
