What is the visa processing time and intake schedule for Germany?

Germany has two main intakes for international students: Winter Semester (starts Sep/Oct) and Summer Semester (starts Mar/Apr). The Winter Semester is the primary intake for most programs.

- Winter Semester: Applications open Dec, close by mid-Jul.
- Summer Semester: Applications open Jun, close by mid-Jan.

German student visa processing typically takes 4 - 12 weeks after your visa appointment. During peak periods (Jun - Sep), it can extend up to 10 - 12 weeks. Timelines are subject to change.
