The German student visa application fee is €75, payable when you submit your application. This fee is non-refundable, even if your visa is denied.
After visa approval, you must also pay:
- Blocked Account Deposit: €11,904 (required to show financial means for your stay; amount may rise if the BAföG rate increases)
- Health Insurance: €120 - €160/month (mandatory for all international students; cost depends on provider and coverage)
These payments are separate from the visa fee and are essential for your legal stay in Germany.
