You need to show that you have held the required funds for at least 28 consecutive days before applying for a UK student visa. Your bank statement or financial documents must cover this 28-day period, with the balance never dropping below the required amount. The closing balance must be dated no more than 31 days before your visa application.

You do not need to show funds held for three years - only the recent 28-day period matters.

If you use your parents’ or legal guardians’ funds, you must provide a consent letter and proof of relationship. Fixed deposits are acceptable if a bank letter confirms they are accessible and held for 28 days.
