It depends on the program and language of instruction.

For most master's programs in Germany:
- IELTS or TOEFL: Required for English-taught courses. Typical minimum is IELTS 6.0 - 7.0 or TOEFL 80 - 100 (subject to change).
- German proficiency tests (TestDaF, DSH): Needed for German-taught programs.
- GRE or GMAT: Some universities require GRE for STEM or technical master's, and GMAT for MBA or management programs.
- PTE: Increasingly accepted as an alternative to IELTS/TOEFL, but check if your target universities recognize it.
