UK applications run on two separate tracks that use overlapping but not identical documents: the university admission file, and the Student visa file that follows once you hold an offer. Mixing the two up is the most common reason students scramble at the last minute.

For the University Application

• Academic records: transcripts and marksheets from Class 10 and 12 onward, plus your degree or provisional certificate for a Master's application.
• CV and personal statement: education, internships, projects, and work experience, tailored to each course rather than reused verbatim.
• References: two to three recommendation letters, usually from professors or employers depending on the university and course.
• English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE, if the university requires it separately from your academic record.

For the Student Visa, After Your Offer

• CAS: your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies from the university.
• Financial evidence: bank statements showing the required amount held for 28 consecutive days; India is not on the list of nationalities exempted from providing this upfront.
• Additional checks: an ATAS certificate for some technical courses, and a TB test certificate depending on where you are applying from.

My Advice

Start the 28-day fund window only once your account balance is genuinely stable, since a large deposit that dips below the required amount partway through the 28 days resets the clock.
