What are the options for post-study work permits or job opportunities after completing my master's abroad in UK/USA?
You can apply for post-study work opportunities in both the UK and the USA after your master's degree.
UK:
- Graduate Route Visa: Stay and work up to 2 years (18 months from Jan 2027) after your master's. No job offer or minimum salary required. - Skilled Worker Visa: If you secure a qualifying job, you can switch to this visa for longer-term employment. Employer sponsorship and minimum salary apply.
USA:
- Optional Practical Training (OPT): Work up to 12 months after graduation in your field. STEM graduates can extend for an additional 24 months (total 36 months). - H-1B Visa: After OPT, you may apply for this employer-sponsored visa (subject to annual cap and lottery) for up to 6 years.
