For Australia, the OET is increasingly preferred by nursing applicants because it uses real healthcare scenarios - you write a patient referral letter and listen to clinical conversations - which means your nursing knowledge actually helps you score higher. If you are targeting Australia, I would recommend starting OET preparation at least 4 to 6 months before your application deadline. For the USA, IELTS Academic with a strong Speaking band is the most universally accepted. Australia allows you to combine scores from two sittings within 6 months, so do not let one weak band discourage you from applying.
