What are the English language test (IELTS) score requirements and retake options in UK/Ireland for a Master's?
Your IELTS score of 7.5 is above the typical requirement for master's admissions in the USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Most universities look for an overall band of 6.5 with no section below 6.0, though some competitive programs may ask for 7.0 or higher.
If you need to improve a specific section, the IELTS One Skill Retake lets you retake just one skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) for computer-delivered tests at eligible centers. Note: this option is not available in the USA.
IELTS scores are valid for two years from your test date and must be current for your application.
