Most master's programs in Ireland and Germany require proof of English language proficiency.

Ireland:
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0)
- TOEFL iBT: 90+ (writing 21+, other sections 19+)
- PTE Academic: 63+
- Duolingo: 110+
Some universities may waive this if your previous degree was taught in English, but this is subject to change and depends on the university.

Germany:
- For English-taught programs:
- IELTS: 6.0 - 6.5
- TOEFL iBT: 80 - 92
- Cambridge C1/C2 or Duolingo: 110 - 120
- For German-taught programs: German proficiency (TestDaF, DSH, or Goethe C1/C2) is required.

Requirements vary by university and program and are subject to change. If you studied in English, some universities may waive the test, but this is not guaranteed. For next steps, connect with your LeapScholar counsellor to review your specific case and target universities.
