Yes, even with a fully funded PhD offer, you must show a minimum bank balance when applying for a UK Student visa.

- £1,483/month (up to 9 months, total £13,347) if studying in London
- £1,136/month (up to 9 months, total £10,224) if outside London

These amounts are for living expenses and are required in addition to any tuition coverage. The funds must be in your bank account for at least 28 consecutive days before your visa application, and the bank statement must be dated within 31 days of applying.
