It depends on the language of your chosen program in Germany.
- For programs taught in German, you must take a recognized German language exam (such as TestDaF, DSH, Goethe-Zertifikat B2 or above, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, or DSD II). This is required for both admission and often for the visa.
- For programs taught in English, a German language exam is usually not required for admission or visa. Basic German skills (A1 or A2) can help with daily life but are not mandatory.
