Yes, APS (Akademische Prüfstelle) certification is mandatory for Indian students applying to study in Germany. It verifies your academic documents and is required before you can proceed with university or visa applications.

Documents typically required:
- Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates (original and English translation)
- Bachelor’s degree certificate and all semester/year marksheets (original and English translation)
- Valid passport (identity page copy)
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Signed APS application form
- Proof of APS fee payment

If any documents are in a language other than English, certified translations are needed. Notarization is only required for translations from Indian regional languages.

Processing usually takes 3 - 4 weeks but can extend up to 3 months. Start your APS application early to avoid delays. If you need help with the process, contact your LeapScholar counsellor.
