Is there a minimum age for the GMAT, and which ID will I need as an Indian candidate?

The GMAT minimum age is 18, and candidates aged 13 to 17 need signed parental consent. There is no upper age limit, required degree, minimum marks or work experience, and it is open to all nationalities. Indian candidates must carry a valid passport, as Aadhaar cards are not accepted.

The GMAT is open to almost everyone. You must be at least 18, or 13 to 17 with signed parental consent, and as an Indian candidate you must carry a valid passport as ID.

Test Eligibility vs Admission Eligibility

Test eligibility and admission eligibility are two separate checklists. Almost anyone can sit the GMAT, yet your target business school will still expect a bachelor's degree and, for most MBAs, work experience. The GMAT is accepted by more than 2,400 graduate management programmes, including full-time MBA, MiM, one-year MBA, MS Finance, MS Business Analytics and Executive MBA programmes. Some schools offer waivers and may accept GRE or other tests.

My Advice

Check your passport validity before you book the test, since the ID must match your registration. Confirm the test policy on each programme's official admissions page.
