It depends on your chosen program and university in Germany.
- For English-taught programs, most universities require an English proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL. Some may waive this if your previous degree was taught entirely in English and you provide a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate, but this varies.
- For German-taught programs, you must show German language proficiency (for example, TestDaF or DSH).
You may not need to submit English test scores at the initial application stage, but you must meet all language requirements before final admission or visa processing.
